Easter Bread / Ukrsnja PogacaNot much longer unt Easter Bread / Ukrsnja PogacaNot much longer until Easter. Its practically around the corner. So, I thought I would share a recipe for Easter bread. Just like for Christmas, in Serbia we always prepare a celebratory bread. Most families will have one as the centrepiece of their table. The recipe is made using a brioche type of bread. Feel free to use only the recipe and then shape the bread in any way that you wish. Or, you can follow the recipe along to make it this particular way. It's a delicious bread. Make it on the morning of, and enjoy eating it warm. Freshly baked bread is just the best.I should also mention that just like Christmas, our Easter falls on a different date. This is because we foĺlow the Julian Calendar. However you can make this recipe for whichever Easter that you celebrate.Full recipe is on the blog.

Zora' Chocolate Squares This is a slightly older Zora' Chocolate Squares This is a slightly older recipe (from the 90's), shared by our old neighour in Serbia named Zora. She shared many recipes with my mum who was a young cook and baker herself. My mum made this recipe for years and years and now I have my hands on it 😀 I actually remember eating this cake as a kid. It's only fitting to name the recipe with Zora's name. I dont know where she got it from, but what does it matter 😊 maybe she made it up herself 🤗The whipped egg whites give the entire cake such a light and airy feel. And the melted chocolate 🍫 mixed into the batter is delicious. There is also lots of sugar in this recipe so you wont miss out on the sweetness. This is a deliciois recipe. I think it tastes best warm, once it has cooled for 10 or 15 minutes. The full recipe is on the blog.
Serbian Chicken Soup 🥣More chicken flavour an Serbian Chicken Soup 🥣More chicken flavour and less actual chicken meat. Depends how you like your soup, you can make this soup with shredded chicken meat or just use the meat as flavouring. This soup is made with chicken wings, that are boiled and cooked with the carrots, parsnips, seasonings and semolina dumplings. You can remove the chicken wings, cut out the meat pieces and put them back in the soup. I prefer to just leave the soup as is, and enjoy the flavour rather than the meat.Either way, it's a super delicious recipe. Inspired by the Serbian chicken and semolina dumpling soup. Some of my dumplings fell apart in the cooking process 😋 but thats okay, it happens and its still delicious. The recipe is up on the blog 🙂
